Building A Resilient Climate Future Through Inuit-Led Research Innovation: A New Vision For Southern Scientific Institutions in Canada

Master of Science graduate research assistant position

Working closely within existing partnerships, our core team in Pond Inlet, Nunavut and myself will explore how Inuit can maintain and lead major climate change-related environmental research programs within an Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit (knowledge, way of life) worldview using the emerging ScIQ approach. Should be interesting!

Supervisor: Prof. Nicolas Brunet
Stipend: $17,500-20,000/year CAD (+ TAs)
Start Date: Between May and September 2022
All travel/equipment funds are included as well but support will be provided to apply to additional scholarships and awards.
Where: University of Guelph
Program: MSc in Rural Planning and Development

Tasks will include mixed method research co- design and program implementation with community and national partners, including a youth group, Arctic College, and others in Nunavut, Canada; research communication coordination; conference presentations; peer review publications and adventure
